Course Selection Information
2025-2026

Tues., Feb. 25th, 2025

Hello CPHS Students and Parents/Guardians,

Over the last two weeks, Mme. Day and Mrs. Anderson have visited all period 1 classes to go over the course selection process and help students enter their course selections into myBlueprint for the 2025-2026 school year.

Now that class visits are done, we ask all students to finish their selections and submit them by Friday February 28th, 2025.

To complete them, go to myblueprint.ca/ucdsb  (don’t forget the /ucdsb) and log in using your school email address and the password you created last year.  Select “Plan Courses” and enter your selections.  Attached are the “Compulsory Courses by Grade” and “Course Offering Sheet”.

If you require help with this or can’t log in, please stop by the Guidance Office on your lunch, spare or during break.  We are happy to help you make your selections.

Mrs. Anderson, Mme. Day and Ms. Shaw

Hello Grade 12’s,

We have started preparing for the 2025-2026 school year and we need your help with it.  😊

Please log into your myBlueprint account, myblueprint.ca/ucdsb, and select the “Not returning next year?” link.  Enter your plans and press submit.

Alternatively, if you would like to return for another semester to CPHS, then you need to stop by the guidance office for a conversation.  Before doing so, look at the attached course offering sheet and have in mind what courses you want to request and why you want to return.  Please know that ‘not knowing’ what’s next after high school is not a great reason to return; we usually recommend trying something new is the best way to help find direction.

We hope second semester has begun well,

Mrs. Anderson, Mme. Day and Ms. Shaw

Mon., Feb. 10th, 2025

Hello CPHS Bears,

We have started preparing for the 2025-2026 school year and this week and next we will visit Period 1 classes to have you select your courses.  😊

Attached to this sheet is the course offerings to help with your selection.  Please remember that you must first select compulsory courses in your grade.  If you are missing other compulsories, you will need to include them as well.  Additionally, you will need to choose electives and alternates (back-up choices).

Compulsory courses per grade:

Grade 10: English, Math, Science, History, Careers & Civics (+FIF2DF, PPL2OF or PAF2OF for FI students)

Grade 11: English, Math (+FIF3UF, HZB3MF for FI students)

Grade 12: English (+FIF4UF for FI students)

A note for students selecting COOP: If four credit co-op is part of your plan for next year, we will need FOUR alternative choices, please.

A note for grade 11’s entering grade 12: If you're on track for 24 credits by the end of this year (eight from grade 9, eight from grade 10, and eight in grade 11), then you may be hoping for a spare in each semester.  If this is the case, then you may want to request just six courses (+ alternatives) for next year.  Remember to consider possible required courses for post-secondary programmes. (You need 6 grade 12 U or M level courses to apply to university in Ontario or to a Bachelor Program at a College).

What can you do right now to prepare for our visit?

  1. Look over the attached course selection sheet and start thinking about which courses you need/would like.
  2. Check that you can still log into myBlueprint.  myBlueprint.ca/ucdsb

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mrs. Anderson, Mme. Day and Ms. Shaw

Hi there!

Thanks for letting us visit your classes the last couple of days.  What an exciting time for your students!

The email below was sent home today to grade 8 parents.

If you have any questions, please reach out to either me or Elizabeth.

Hello Grade 8 Parents/Guardians and Students,

Over the last couple of days, the Guidance office visited grade 8 classes to begin the exciting (and maybe a little scary) process of grade 9 course selections.  Unfortunately, because of the network disruptions, we are unable to share this information electronically with our students so we are reaching out to parents.

Attached to this email is the information from our grade 8 course selection presentation.  Please review as needed.

  • Grade 9 course selection process (students were given this sheet when we visited their class)
  • Grade 9 course PowerPoint with course descriptions and OSSD Graduation Requirements
  • Community Involvement Sheet (not to be started until after gr.8 graduation)
  • Grade 9 Course Selection sheet – TO BE FILLED OUT AND RETURNED by THURSDAY FEBRUARY 6th, 2025 (students were given this sheet when we visited their class)

Key dates:

  • CPHS Grade 8 Evening – Tuesday February 4th, 2025 at 6pm - That's next week!
  • Submit Course Selection Forms by Thursday February 6th, 2025 - hand in to homeroom teacher
  • My Blueprint entry February 12th, 13th and 14th (Network dependent) – in class

If you have any questions or concerns about grade 9, please reach out to me and I will be able to help or can direct you to the right person/resource.

You can reach me in two ways:

We look forward to welcoming you into grade 9 here at CPHS and getting to know you over the upcoming years.

Mme. Day
