Course Selection Information
2024-2025

Monday, February 19, 2024

Good morning, Bears (and Parents/Guardians),

Hope you are enjoying the long weekend!  Perhaps this is a good opportunity to get your course selections done for next year?  We've attached the reference sheet for each grade one more time so that you have it at your fingertips (also found below).  Please log into your account in www.myblueprint.ca/ucdsb to complete this task.

Remember that we need parent/guardian approval on your selections.  Students can either bring a signed paper copy to the Guidance office, or they can have a parent/guardian send an email to [email protected] with a PDF attachment (saved by lastname_firstname).

If you need assistance with your selections, please email Mrs. Anderson ([email protected]) or Mrs. Winter ([email protected]) to schedule an appointment.

We need all course selections in by the end of February.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Enjoy this beautiful sunny day!

Hello, Grade 10s!

Yes, we have started preparing for the 2024-2025 school year, and it is almost time for you to choose your courses for grade 11.  ๐Ÿ˜Š  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:

Attached to this email, you will find a reference sheet to help you with your selections.  The grade 11 compulsories are listed at the top (just two of them for many of you -- English and Math).  Additionally, you will need to choose electives to get you to eight potential credits for next year, plus two alternative or back-up choices.

Next steps:

  1. We ask that you look over the reference sheet before Friday and start thinking about which courses you might like/need.
  2. On Friday, February 16th @ 9:05 a.m., you're invited to participate in a Teams meeting (for current grade 10s only), where you'll hear more description about the courses, and we'll be able to answer your course selection questions on the spot.  The link to the meeting will be shared with your classroom teachers.
  3. After the presentation, we will activate myBlueprint.ca/ucdsb so that you can input your course selections right away.  (Have you checked to make sure you can get into your account?  If not, please do so this week.)
  4. Once you've finished inputting your courses into your plan, you will submit them so Guidance can check and make sure everything is correct.

IMPORTANT:  We require approval of course selections by a parent/guardian.  We suggest that students save their submission page as a PDF (by lastname_firstname).  Parents/Guardians should then email that document to [email protected].   Alternatively, we will also gladly accept a printed course selection sheet with parent/guardian signature.

Thanks in advance for your help!  Hope you're having a great weekend!

Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Shaw, and Mrs. Winter

Hello, Grade 9s!

Yes, we have started preparing for the 2024-2025 school year, and it is almost time for you to choose your courses for grade 10. ๐Ÿ˜Š   PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:

Attached to this email, you will find a reference sheet to help you with your course selections.  The grade 10 compulsories are listed at the top (five of them for most of you -- English, Math, Science, History, and Civics/Careers).  Additionally, you will need to choose electives to get you to eight potential credits for next year, plus two alternative or back-up choices.

Next steps:

  1. We ask that you look over the reference sheet before Thursday and start thinking about which courses you need/would like.
  2. On Thursday, February 15th @ 9:05 a.m., you're invited to participate in a Teams meeting (for current grade 9s only), where you'll hear more description about the courses, and we'll be able to answer your course selection questions on the spot. The link will be provided to your classroom teachers.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Hello, Grade 11s!

Yes, we have started preparing for the 2024-2025 school year, and it is almost time for you to choose your courses for grade 12.  ๐Ÿ˜Š  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:

Attached to this email, you will find a reference sheet to help you with your selections.  For most of you, the last grade 12 compulsory will be English -- if you are missing other compulsories, you will need to include those as well.  Additionally, you will need to choose electives and alternatives (back-up choices).

If you're on track for 24 credits by the end of this year (eight from grade 9, eight from grade 10, and eight in grade 11), then you may be hoping for a spare in each semester.  If this is the case, then you may want to request just six courses (+ alternatives) for next year.  If four credit co-op is part of your plan for next year, we will need FOUR alternative choices, please.

Next steps:

  1. We ask that you look over the reference sheet before Wednesday and start thinking about which courses you need/would like.  Remember to consider possible required courses for post-secondary programmes.
  2. On Wednesday, February 14th @ 9:05 a.m., you're invited to participate in a Teams meeting (for current grade 11s and returning grade 12s only), where you'll hear more description of the courses, and we'll be able to answer your course selection questions on the spot.  We'll provide the link for this meeting to classroom teachers.
  3. After the presentation, we will activate myBlueprint.ca/ucdsb so that you can input your course selections right away.  (Have you checked to make sure you can get into your account?  If not, please do that.)
